Checklist for your next International Trip

Choosing the destination, buying the airline tickets and booking the hotel in advance, scheduling the tours, packing your bags and separating the essential documents are the first steps that make up a trip! Traveling to other countries requires some obligations and documents that are extremely important to embark and disembark in different destinations around the world. After all, contact with a different culture, language and currency requires some special preparations.
Admirable natural landscapes, historical monuments, receptive people, famous sights and much more: international travel is a unique opportunity and, in many cases, the dream of many travelers. We have separated some fundamental information to help you make the checklist for your next international trip.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE AIRPORT?
Visiting other countries requires meeting some requirements and each country around the world has its peculiarities. Check out a checklist of documents required for international travel:

Passport: This document is an almost unanimous requirement when it comes to visiting abroad! Only a few countries do not require it from Brazilians, such as: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, among others. The document must be valid for at least six months from the date of departure from the country.

Visa: Another action you can take without having any trips booked. An important recommendation: first get your visa, then book the trip! Some countries do not require it if your trip is for tourism, but it is good to remember that the rule only applies to trips lasting up to 3 months and check if it is accurate in the destination you are going to visit.

Identity Card: Not all countries require Brazilian tourists to present their passport. In many destinations, such as South America, for example, you just need to present your identification document to enter the country! Therefore, the RG is indeed one of the documents for Mercosur international boarding.

International Certificate of Vaccination: In places where immunization is required, the traveler must present the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (CIVP), issued by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA). Be aware that the rules can be changed at any time and are determined by each country.

Proof of Accommodation: Another very important precaution to avoid having problems with immigration is to also present proof of accommodation, whether in a Hotel or Hostel. If you are staying with friends or relatives, it is important that you also present an invitation letter registered with the local authority and signed by the person who will receive you.

Financial proof: Item to prove that the traveler is able to support himself during the period of the trip (credit cards, cash, among others).

Health certificate: This item can be requested in cases of a pandemic or passengers in specific health situations, such as pregnant women and patients with chronic diseases.

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOARDING WITH CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS:
In addition to the documents mentioned above, boarding with children under 18 years of age on international trips requires some more care. Children under 5 years old are not allowed to travel alone! They must be accompanied by a third-degree relative or legal guardian. Some airlines extend the ban on traveling unaccompanied to up to 8 years of age.

TO BOARD WITH YOUR PET:
For international travel with your Pet, it is recommended to check which vaccines are required and you need to provide a vaccination card and a health certificate. It will also be necessary to issue the International Zoosanitary Certificate - CZI.

OFFICIAL CURRENCY:
Another important thing to plan is to buy the international currency in advance! If you are going to travel abroad and do not want to suffer the effects of exchange rate instability, buy dollars little by little. Euros if you go to the eurozone in Europe, or pounds if you go to the UK.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Many countries, mainly in Europe, require the traveler to have this item to cover possible medical expenses. Also, prepare a first aid kit as traveling safe makes all the difference!
In addition to these items mentioned, each place has its rules and requirements, so it's always good to check before boarding, such as: Your luggage! In general, the rules related to baggage are the same, but we suggest checking the airlines website or the Infraero website for the criteria and rules. Therefore, it is always good to organize yourself properly and check all the rules for entering each destination.
